- When: June 19-25 2022
- Where: Millikin University Decatur, IL
- Why: Showchoir Camps of America is an incredible week where you learn a full show choir show from the country's top educators and entertainment professionals at one of our exciting camps. With over four decades of trendsetting education in music, dance, and stagecraft, SCA is the premiere show choir camp in the nation.
- Cost: $795
- Scholarship: Because of the overwhelming successes of Choral Classic and Cabaret, the WWS Show Choir Program has established a Scholarship Fund to award a $150 scholarship to any WWS Show Choir student interested in participating in Showchoir Camps of America. Last season we were able to provide scholarships for each student to participate in Virtual Showchoir Camps of America but we’re looking forward to creating the opportunity for our students to participate in a full week at the nation’s top show choir experience.
- Is attendance at Show Choir Camps of America Mandatory? No. We understand that summer schedules can be crowded. So if you can make it work, great! If not, let’s try for next year!
- Although WWS Show Choirs have experienced recent success, elite programs like ours cannot afford to take the summer off. High School Sports, Club Sports, Speech, Theater/Drama, etc. all have summer commitments to reinvigorate the program, offer diverse opportunities in specific areas of their discipline (singing, dancing, songwriting, etc.) and provide new performance experiences that maintain the incredibly high standards.
- Students who are looking towards leadership positions within Classics and Esprit should really consider attending as there are many workshops that are devoted to leadership, choreography, being a dance captain, etc.
- Payment:
- Mr. Miller will register your child and pay the $150 deposit. The remaining $645 will be paid by school check on the first day of camp for each student who attends. REGISTER YOUR SPOT FOR CAMP WITH MR. MILLER HERE
- Families will be responsible for the $645 balance and would pay by sending a check to the school via mail or dropping it off in the main office during school hours. Checks should be made payable to “Wheaton Warrenville South High School”. Checks dropped off at school should be in an envelope marked “Student Name - SCA Attention: Mr. Miller” Checks mailed should be sent to:
WWSHS Show Choir
1993 Tiger Trail
Wheaton, IL 60189
- Ideally, the balance would be paid by the first day of camp. If breaking it into smaller payments over a longer period of time would be easier, we can work that out…we just really need kids to go to this camp, so we’re here to help make it happen!
- Transportation to camp: Mr. Miller is willing to drive an activities bus and take our campers to Decatur that way. Parents can also drive their kids to Decatur as well. If we need a bigger bus, we’ll get one. Again, we really want to overcome as many obstacles as we can, so our kids can experience this amazing camp!
- Mr. Miller attends the camp every year and will be there the entire week to support the students. Mr. Grace is also on staff at the camp and Dwight Jordan, our brilliant choreographer, is the founder and director of the entire week!
- If you’ve already registered your child for the camp, we’ll subtract the $150 from your 22-23 Show Choir fees balance.
- If attending Show Choir Camps of America this summer, please fill out this google form so that Mr. Miller can input the correct information when he registers the students and pays the deposit. REGISTER YOUR SPOT FOR CAMP WITH MR. MILLER HERE
- COVID 19 UPDATE: To attend SCA, student participants must be fully vaccinated or show proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken no earlier than 72 hours before the start of camp. In addition, all camp participants will be required to take an at-home COVID-19 Rapid Test before departing for campus the day of check-in. NOTE: We are keeping the fully vaccinated requirement for teachers, staff, counselors and clinicians. We will continue to take steps to provide a safe and healthy camp environment. As we have stated previously, guidelines can be adjusted as conditions warrant up to the start of camp. Should anything change we will update our COVID FAQ on our website. If you have a question, you can reach out to us at info@showchoircamps.com.
- If your child is attending and is up to date on their vaccines, you can turn that information in with the rest of the paperwork that will be mailed to your house via mail, or you can bring the proof along with you when checking in on the first day of camp.
